Art Catalogues Event - Mark Ruwedel and Tyler Green
Please join us on the occasion of the publication of Mark Ruwedel's new book, Pictures of Hell.
Mark and Modern Art Notes' Tyler Green will talk about hell and what the West means today.
Ruwedel is the 2014 winner of a Guggenheim Fellowship and the prestigious Canadian Scotiabank
Award. While inspired by the 19th-century photographers whose photo albums revealed the glories
of the West, his work presents a contemporary and critical view of the same territory. Green is the
author of the forthcoming biography on 19th century photographer Carleton Watkins. It's a match
made in heaven.
