Since 1989, Melanie Smith has lived and worked in Mexico City. In that time, through social interaction which produces photographs and prints, Smith has "explored the relationship between certain aspects of pictorial abstraction and the way these can involuntarily reflect the growth of cities, their dynamics and their visual agitation."
