Choke magazine, an anthology of art created for Fall 1976 and published by Barbara Burden and Jeffrey Gubbins, features documentation of current works, along with various forms of creative writing—including poetry and fiction. The publication documented artworks by Michael McMillen, Scott Grieger, Chris Burden, Billy Adler, Margaret Nielsen, Bruce Nauman, Guy de Cointet, George Herms, Tom Wudl and Edward Wortz. "We appreciate the effort and imagination of the artists and writers represented in this issue," reads the editorial in Choke dated Sept. 1, 1976. "The experience of putting it together justified the energy spent, and we hope the contributors and readers are equally satisfied with the result."
