This major retrospective exhibition was held 25 September to 23 November 1969. The catalogue designed by Chermayeff & Geismar Associates is a work of art in itself, from its innovative cover proudly highlighting the work of curator Barbara Rose, to the profusion of illustrations, both documentary of Oldenburg and his artistic peers and representative of his large body of work.
