A curious and nostalgic artist book by Francesco Clemente that harkens back to touristic postcard books from the 1950's. Bound with string and covered in linen, the collection includes 16 printed cards attached under the cut out corners of the page (see picture). Mounted on handmade paper, the cards in Undae Clemente Flamina Pulsae commemorate Italian phrases, drawings and paintings, two of which feature Clemente.
Undae Clemente Flamina Pulsae was printed by Kalakshetra Publications Press, Madras, India in an edition of 800 and published by Art and Project, Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Undae Clemente Flamina Pulsae was published as Bulletin 107 on the occasion of the the artist's exhibition at Art and Project in May 1978. It is unclear if the cards are reproductions of the works that were included in the exhibition of the same name. Art and Project closed in 2001.
