Born in 1974 in El Khnansa, Morocco Latifa Echakhch lives and works in Paris, France, and in Martigny, Switzerland.
Latifa Echakhch makes sculptures, paintings, installations and performances heavily laden with cultural, political, historical and personal references executed with often minimally manipulated materials. Honing in on the relevance current events with history, Echakhch pieces moments in time to create poetic responses that make the viewer want to dig deeper into the relationships of actions and results.
