Sol LeWitt was a painter, sculptor, draftsman, printmaker and orgintaor of wall drawings well known throughout the United States, Europe, South America, Japan and Australia.

This beautifully crafted scarf relates to his wall paintings and famous grids. As those structures hang on the wall, fit into the corner or "hold the floor," the scarf as folded or draped sets kinetic passage in motion for the viewer. This image is named loopy doopy as is from the late 90's wall work series.

The artist was born in Connecticut, studied at Syracuse University and Cartoonists and Illustrators School (later known as the The School of Visual Arts). He worked as a graphic artist for the architect I.M. Pei before establishing his own reputation as an important artist in the mid sixties. Dry clean only.
