Diado Moriyama, Seville, 2007.
Hardcover, 216 pp., 138 b/w illustrations, 10.5 x 8 x 0.75 inches.
Based on the retrospective exhibition at the Andalusian Center of Contemporary Art, Seville (March 2007), this stunning book offers a new look at Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama, acclaimed for his stark images of urban life as well as for his transformation of everyday ordinariness. The volume includes an overview of Moriyama's highly contrasted, oddly angled black-and-white photographs including 16 pages printed on yellow paper, which provides a new and unexpected support for Moriyama's 'momentary fossils of light and time.' Also included is a seminal text by the photographer, 'Dialogue with Photography.'
